was born a Texan and he is as Texas as the Alamo. His birth place was Tarrant County, Texas, and he still lives there. He grew up playing all the usual sports that Texas boys favor. Hunting and fishing were always a big part of his life and Friday nights were spent under the lights at the football stadium. Gary had his best win when he married his high school sweetheart. And a bonus was that her family loved the Texas lakes, too. He soon traveled all over Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas, selling oil field equipment, and always managed to take his fishing tackle so he could try out the local lakes. After he became a father, Gary no longer wanted to be on the road and he started working for American Airlines at DFW Airport, where he worked for 20 years. As Gary’s son and daughter grew, he coached both their basketball, baseball and football teams and sat on many a bleacher watching his daughter’s cheerleading competitions. Both, Gary and his wife, volunteered many hours to their own kid’s schools and loved working with many young people. Although both of their children are grown Gary’s wife still works full time with kids and Gary is still always ready to take a kid fishing. Gary started fishing tournaments back in the 80’s fishing as much as possible while still keeping his family his first priority. Now that their children are grown and pursuing their owncareers Gary and his wife now have more time to concentrate on their love of fishing. With Gary’s great and outgoing personality many of his family and friends would often comment that he should have his own fishing show. Gary asked “Why not”? He went after the idea like he goes after a 10lb. bass, so “Fishing Texas Lakes with Gary Morgan” soon began. Gary is now celebrating his 2nd season and living and enjoying life to the fullest. Gary’s advice is to just keeping working hard and trying and good things are bound to happen.
Heroes: Tom Morgan–He always made sure I had a rod and a place to fish. Bob Dorsey--Who loved to fish and got more excited catching fish than any man I ever met. Debra -Who always encourages me and gave me the two best kids in the world. Rosa Lee Dorsey-- She continues to be my biggest fan. Ernie Lott -Someone that knows more about me than I do. And my biggest heroes would have to be my two kids Garrett and Brittany for being just as proud of me as I am of them.
